Abstract

PT Karyabaru Adyapratama is a construction company currently involved in the development project of the JPL 150A KM 148+006 Level Crossing (Flyover & Pedestrian Overpass at PUSDIKPOM) located in Cimahi City. This project poses a high level of occupational accident risk, particularly during the foundation excavation phase. Between May and December 2024, a total of 31 work-related accidents were recorded in this phase. Most of these incidents were caused by carelessness, failure to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as disturbances such as fatigue, anxiety, health issues, and a lack of understanding among workers regarding proper procedures and working methods. These factors significantly affect workers’ alertness on site, thereby necessitating an evaluation of compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) practices. This study aims to identify potential hazards, determine the level of risk, and provide recommendations for risk control measures to prevent work accidents. The method employed in this research is Job Safety Analysis (JSA). The results indicate that there are five main work processes comprising a total of 20 activities. Among these, 19 activities fall under the category of physical hazards, 5 are mechanical hazards, 1 involves chemical hazards, 1 is related to electrical hazards, and 2 activities pose environmental hazards. In terms of risk levels, 8 activities are categorized as High Risk, while 13 are considered Medium Risk. To reduce the potential for occupational accidents, the implementation of risk control strategies is recommended through elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and the proper use of PPE. By applying Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to the foundation excavation process, the company is expected not only to minimize work-related risks but also to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
